Neuropsychological Assessment

What to expect?

The goal of a neuropsychological assessment is to clarify your cognitive functioning (attention, memory, processing speed, problem-solving, or other cognitive ability). This will help identify your strengths and challenges, as well as provide diagnostic considerations and treatments recommendations. In addition to an interview where you will be asked questions about your background and current medical symptoms, standardized measures (tests) and questionnaires will be used.

Assessments may take several hours or more of face-to-face testing. On average, the interview typically takes 1 to 2 hours, whereas collecting information about your cognitive functioning (psychometric testing) can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the complexity and details of the case. We then need additional non-face-to-face time to score and interpret the test data, as well as to prepare a written report.

The types of assessments offered include:

  • Neuropsychological Assessments

  • Cognitive Assessments

  • Independent Medical Examinations

  • Psychoeducational Assessments

  • Psychological/Psychiatric Assessments
